Department of Rangeland and Forestry
More ...About Department of Rangeland and Forestry
The natural specialization was chosen during the academic year 1979/1980 with the aim of qualifying specialized cadres to contribute to the development and management of pastures and forests and to participate in programs for preserving biological diversity, isolating desertification, preserving biological and real diversity, and exploiting these natural resources. The department also aims to participate in the preparation of studies, scientific consultations, and applied research in order to provide appropriate solutions or recommendations for what may suffer from pasture lands, forests, and the natural environment due to natural nutrition.
In view of the progress and development in the field of focus on the environment and its natural resources at the national and global levels, and the need for specialized cadres within the various general areas, a new study program for the department was recently developed and approved during the 2014/2015 study.
The department includes the following divisions:
1- Range Science.
2- Forestry.
3- Wildlife Sciences Wild-life.
4- Environment.
There was a need for a new name for the department that would be more comprehensive and as an umbrella that would embrace all divisions, so that it would be changed to the “Department of Natural Resources.”
